Update to the new “Consideration for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” policy

Customs and Immigration Services has just announced updates to what they call “Consideration for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals”. This refers to the new Immigration policy announced by President Obama this past June 15, 2012. It is for people who do not have proper legal status, who are 30 years or younger, and who have entered the U.S. when they were under 16. In anticipation for their August 15, 2012 deadline to implement this process, CIS has provided some preliminary information to get us prepared. The specifc procedures and a new form being created to be used for this process will be made available on August 15, 2012. It is suggested to consult with an attorney and do not try filing this on your own. It is essential that these are filed properly to ensure qualification and approval.
