You may qualify to become a U.S. Resident today – and not even know it!

Did you turn 21 and lose your place in your “immigration” line?  After years of waiting, do you now have to wait even longer for falling into an “over 21” category.  If you think you did, you may have some hope.  Under the laws provided under the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA), you may still qualify as “under 21”, even though you reached the age of 21.  If you think you may fall into this category, call me to evaluate your situation.  You may qualify to become a U.S. Resident today – and not even know it!

CIS is now accepting applications under the Childhood Arrival program.

TODAY IS THE DAY!  CIS is now accepting applications under the Childhood Arrival program.  Some people call it the Mini-Dream Act.  But regardless of what you call it, I strongly caution anyone that thinks they qualify to consult with an attorney and DO NOT TRY AND FILE THIS ON YOUR OWN.   There are a lot of aspects to this program, and if not filed correctly, you can find you did a lot more harm than good.  Do yourself a favor – this is a very important matter – give me a call so we can figure out if you qualify and get it done right!

Update to the new “Consideration for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” policy

Customs and Immigration Services has just announced updates to what they call “Consideration for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals”. This refers to the new Immigration policy announced by President Obama this past June 15, 2012. It is for people who do not have proper legal status, who are 30 years or younger, and who have entered the U.S. when they were under 16. In anticipation for their August 15, 2012 deadline to implement this process, CIS has provided some preliminary information to get us prepared. The specifc procedures and a new form being created to be used for this process will be made available on August 15, 2012. It is suggested to consult with an attorney and do not try filing this on your own. It is essential that these are filed properly to ensure qualification and approval.

Traffic citations are especially important to drivers who have Commercial Driver’s Licenses. Any citation or points on the record can cause significant problems for their employment. Additionally, there are a set of regulations and violations that pertain only to commercial truck driver’s, and these violations make affect the CDL status, even if it does not affect the driving record. Additionally, CDL driver’s who receive citations sometimes have limitations on how the citations can be resolved. If you are a driver with a CDL , it is imperative that you consult with a qualified attorney when you receive a citation. Do it timely, and do not just pay the citation! Let us discuss with you your options, how each option may affect you, and how we can help.
